The Indic Diaspora at the 6th Indic Film Utsav

One of the key aspects of the 6^th Indic Film Utsav was the support we received from the Indian diaspora in Dallas through various non-profits. A total of 10 organization partners came forward to celebrate independent, uplifting, and culturally rich Indic cinema! Each organization not only supported the festival, but also championed stories that reflected diverse voices, traditions, and human experiences from across the Indic world.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Indian Association of North Texas for presenting American Warrior; People’s Impact Network for supporting our Documentaries Bundle; Maharashtra Mandal of DFW for presenting 87 Rupees Ink Pen; and Diya TV for supporting CasteGate: The Untold Story.

A special thanks to the Bengali Association of DFW for presenting Ahana: The Light Within; the Mumbaikar Group for supporting Shorts Bundle #1; Nepalese Society, Dallas for presenting the acclaimed Nepali feature Jaar; and WE Women Global Network for supporting Shorts Bundle #2, encouraging emerging voices and meaningful storytelling.

We also deeply appreciate the support of Mallige Kannada Association of Dallas for presenting Rhythm of Dammam, and Sohara Foundation for supporting 6A Akash Ganga, a film celebrating the timeless legacy of music and culture.

What made this collaboration truly special was the spirit behind it. These organizations represent different regions, languages, cultures, and communities, yet they came together with one shared belief: that cinema has the power to inspire, connect, and uplift people. Their partnership helped transform Indic Film Utsav into not just a film festival, but a vibrant cultural gathering for Dallas audiences.

Together, we brought positive independent cinema to the Indian community in Dallas and beyond.
